Qt Creator vs KDevelop: What are the differences? Developers describe Qt Creator as "A cross-platform C++, JavaScript and QML IDE". It is a cross platform integrated development environment (IDE) to create C++ and QML applications for multiple desktop, embedded and mobile platforms.
Qt Creator may be my favorite IDE (not just for Qt) I just downloaded the Qt Creator IDE and so far I think its great. I have been using KDevelop for quite some time, but it seems that Qt Creator has it beat in a few areas. Otherwise, the clear advantage Qt Creator has over VS is that it's cross platform and moving platforms while keeping your IDE is a clean winner. If you only work on Windows and have experience working with VS, then you might be more comfortable using something you already know. Obviously Qt Creator is a lot more Qt-oriented. Qt Creator has no debugger, it's the one provided by Microsoft unless you are using MinGW. In any case, use what fits best your needs.
Especially after (v5.0 I think) they integrated libclang to their auto completion. But I would say QtCreate is more polished and more robust version of the (idea of) KDevelop. They both trying to achieve the same goal. They both wan to be C++ IDE (although QtCreator does support Qt Project in a special way). On the other hand, KDevelop has far superior completion, and even code coloring. Not just syntax, but every variable and function has its own color.
